36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet.

Sketches
My every project starts on a blank piece of paper. This is something I kept as a habit while studying graphic design at Bilkent University.

Adam Pękalski, my graphic design instructor at that time, had a strict rule in class: If you don't have any sketches to show, don't bother coming to the class at all. Our discussions were solely happening on paper; scribbling, drawing, visualising. You can observe how sketching allows me to braindump all of the ideas for this project; from the deepest, darkest corners of my mind, onto the paper.

Color Palette & Brushes
A real artist doesn't gatekeep. For the colors, I was inspired by Material's Flat UI color palette. And used the set of Procreate brushes of the talented Galshir (p.s they're heavily textured) that a friend of mine gifted me.

Wanna see how I drew these letters?
